Asking for recommendations help

I have transferred to America this year so my high school teacher doesn’t know me that much. There’s my art teacher that I’ve been for almost a year but the rest just know me for 4 to 5 months. How would I ask a good recommendation in this case? In my previous school, all the teacher are Vietnamese and none of them know English.

bump 10 char?

Tough luck :frowning: Just go for the two or three teachers who know you the best. 4 or 5 months isn’t TOO bad, and if you’ve done well in a class your teachers will almost always write you a satisfactory rec. Don’t forget to be polite, write thank you notes, etc etc.

uhm… ok thanks

anyone else?

It really could be worse. At least they know you for a few months. If you make them aware of your predicament they will most likely be very happy to help with a thoughtful recommendation. You don’t have many choices from what you described, so just speak with those few teachers, be honest and pleasant and I’m sure they will be helpful. Good luck!!
