At the risk of pushing this thread even more towards the political- my “please not him” list includes Tom Hanks, George Clooney, and Barack Obama.
Please not Barack Obama oh no I can’t even think it please no.
Charlie Rose has been suspended from CBS after a number of women accused him of harassment. Parading around nude in front of them, groping etc.
Seems like most of the accused are ugly men. Maybe some correlation there.
Rose now suspended from CBS News and shows on PBS and Bloomberg suspended.
Meanwhile Moore is likely headed to the US Senate (I don’t believe the polls - I think some just won’t admit to voting for a sexual predator.)
I don’t think most of the accused are particularly physically ugly. Weinstein’s a toad, but Glenn Thrush is a normal-looking guy, Roy Moore was a normal-looking guy before he was married when the alleged events occurred, some of the accused actors are good-looking, Donald Trump wasn’t bad looking as a young man, Kevin Spacey is OK looking. Seems to me they have the usual range of male appearance.
Add Al Franken, Roger Ailes and Bill O’Reilly to the ugly list. A fleeting thought…when the assault is a fanny rub or kiss…would women object if it was from George Clooney, Hugh Jackman, Roger Federer (or fill in the name of your secret crush here).
Am I off base with this?
There have been reports that female Secret Service agents objected to having to watch Joe Biden swim in the nude. He also has some pretty awkward photos of kissing and rubbing women who are grimacing at his touch.
Wow I can’t believe Charlie Rose, what a pig!
I will go on record as saying I wouldn’t kick George out of my bed for eating crackers. Or Pat Rafter. I’m also 1000% sure I wouldn’t mind either of them patting my bum. I’d probably drop to the ground in a pool of my own drool - such is their force field.
Ugh. Charlie Rose.
I know many people are just not going to understand why so many women freeze up and do nothing.
I hope these stories coming out show how vulnerable these women were. So eager for a break in the business, for a good salary, for a good life.
I am feeling ticked off at that female producer, although I’m sure she felt she had her own job & position to protect.
Latest sex pest,Charlie Rose. I hope all these losers in Hollywood are terrified that they will be exposed.
“Sex pest” - well said, @gearmom !
Charlie Rose? Ugh! Who next???
“Add Al Franken…to the ugly list”
I guess it takes all kinds because I think he’s adorable in the Jewish way that Jewish me likes. This obviously does not go to his behavior.
Don’t want to post. SNL did a sexual harassment skit with Tom Brady in 2012. You can see if the skit aged well or is cringe worthy with all the latest news.
Now I know my taxes paid for Conyers to fly women to DC for his entertainment.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
I’m getting confused as to where I’ve posted since these threads and the accused, unfortunately for us all, keeps propagating. However, let’s keep the discussion focused on recent events, not those from a generation or more ago; it’s not comparable as society and expectations have evolved since then.
@TatinG - I’d have a problem with Clooney or any other attractive guy grabbing my butt if my boss or coworker, or really if he did it outside of a relationship we were having, at all.
I had an acquaintance do that to me at a party once, as he passed by. I waited about ten minutes then did it back to him. He didn’t like it. I wouldn’t have done that if he’d been my boss.
Just an observation that none of the men accused thus far are physically attractive (in my opinion) and all are middle aged or old. I don’t exactly know what to make of that. You need to be of a certain age to get the sort of power that is used to sexually harass women in exchange for jobs, I suppose. Or maybe all these men look ugly to me now that I know how they’ve acted with women.
Hmm Charlie Rose seems a bit delusional or shall I say defiant?

Well Rose was just fired.
