Hey! I recently applied to my first internship at GMU’s ASSIP (Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program). I’m a high school sophomore, so I don’t know what to expect…
I chose the following mentors: Amira Roess, Alessandra Luchini, and Fatah Kashanchi.
I’d love to hear if anyone else applied to the program and hopefully update each other about acceptances, share stats, etc. under this thread!!
Yeah I also heard they heavily favor applicants from around the area/state compared to out of state applicants, so I’m not sure about my chances either.
Ultimately it came down to the tuition. I was able to attend COSMOS for basically half off the original tuition while RMP basically gave me no financial aid lol. Also the cluster I attended at COSMOS was pretty selective (around 6% I believe?).
Anyone has experience with the remote option (eg., computer projects). Is there a lot of engagement with students or activities besides research? Are the projects guided by the professors or grad students? Appreciate any info related to the remote option. Thanks
I applied for CS as well. I chose Brittany Johnson-Matthews, Jessica Lin, and Lishan Yang. Did you get any responses from the mentors you applied to yet?
Hi all.
I created a discord server that is designed for accepted applicants to discuss ASSIP 2024! However, we also accept prospective applicants, alumni, and past applicants :).
