<p>For those either not getting into grad school, or wanting to wait a few years to go to grad school, are there programs that are similar to internships, where it’s not a long term job commitment, where a student can work in the engineering field, get some experience, and then go on to grad school? And are some of these programs simply called “internships” but don’t only last for the summer?</p>

<p>Also, any links to help find such positions?</p>

<p>Seems that it would make sense to get a regular job for a few years and then leave. Companies don’t really expect you’re gonna spend your life there.</p>
