Associates before Cornell in high School

I have been offered by an architectural college in my state to leave high school in my junior year and attend their college for two years and receive my associates in architecture, with the first out of the two years free. I am in all honor classes in high school right now and I will receive all my credits before I leave; also when I attend this college I will continue to receive my normal classes that I would just as I would if in high school, just at a higher level while also taking my architecture classes. I would be applying to Cornell undergraduate architecture school as a transfer. I will have all of the classes they require and my SAT’s done. By the way I am going into my sophomore year.

I am just wondering if any of you know if this degree would help me or hurt me when applying to Cornell AAP, I know other colleges might appreciate it but I don’t know how Cornell decides admissions so I was wondering if any of you do. I would appreciate any advice on this because I still haven’t decided, thank you.

Why would you want an associates degree?

i’m not even sure that cornell will accept those credits.

i would strongly encourage you to talk to the admissions folks over at the architect school.

Congratulations on being accepted to your state school for architecture. If you are wondering whether Cornell will accept those credits you should consult with the school that you will be applying to. The amount of credits accepted is different with each college within the university.

My child earned an associates degree before applying to Cornell but did not go in as a transfer student.
