Is getting my paramedic associate’s degree before joining the Army a good idea? Would it be meaningless?
Is joining a paramedic program and earning an associate’s degree possible for someone who is straight out of highschool?
If you have 48+ credit hours, you get to join the Army as a PFC (E-3). As anyone who has ever been in the military knows, RHIP (rank has its privileges).
It would also be useful to discuss this specific degree program with your recruiter to find out if it can make a difference in the assignment you could get after enlisting.
What a great plan. Please talk to your recruiter to be sure about all your options. Maybe Reserve duty would help fund your AA education and paramedic goals? Maybe ROTC is a good fit for you? And thank you for considering to serve your country.
Thank you all very much.
