My old Macbook is literally falling apart, and I’m looking to replace it. I never even use it anymore because the battery life sucks (lasts 1-2 hours). I stopped using it completely after my first semester in college and I’m a sophomore now, so keep in mind that anything would be better than this.

I’m strongly considering getting an ASUS transformer as my main personal computer. I know, it sounds weird that I’m looking to get a tablet as my main computer, but here’s why I think I should get it:

I can take notes for my Engineering classes with this thing. Yes, I know pencil and notebook works best, but it’s a perk, I guess.

The office suite is compatible with Microsoft Office. I have some old version of Microsoft Office on my Mac that has compatibility issues all the time. I’ve never gotten used to it either because it’s just aggravating by nature.

Even when my Macbook was working fine my first semester, I didn’t game at all, and I hardly even browsed the internet. I don’t care if the specs suck on this ASUS. - I want something that’s actually portable and not chained to the outlet on my wall. ~16 hours of battery life sounds freaking amazing. I didn’t know that was even possible, it’s like I’ve been living under a rock. It’s also half the weight of my Macbook, so that’s really nice.

I like to draw, and a quick search brought me to a Photoshop app. I miss having a Wacom tablet, so this purchase would kill two birds with one stone.

Overall, it looks relatively cheap and it’s way more than enough for my minimalist needs.

Any other suggestions based on what I’ve said? Any advice is appreciated because I don’t know much about computers :P

Thanks in advance!
