At Many Colleges, Early Applications Rise

<p>I remember before Dec 10 we were all getting hopeful because a rumor had been going around that only 3000 applied early this year, compared with 3442 last year.</p>

<p>“Cornell, for example, received an additional 136 applications for its binding early decision program this fall, when compared to last, but accepted 103 fewer students than last year.”</p>

<p>Why do you think they decreased class size?</p>

<p>Oh, one reason may be that Cornell allowed internationals to apply ED for the first time. So since the international admit rate is lower, the overall ED admit rate was lower too.</p>

<p>And earlier, we were all talking about how Cornell was releasing decisions so early this year because of the drop of the # of applications lol</p>
