At my wit's end. Shall I put myself up for adoption?

Please refer to this thread for my grade/ec profile: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/989961-what-my-chances.html

Well, ok the issue is, my parents want me to go to undergraduate Law school in the UK(to which I have a place for already) and despite my best efforts in persuading them that my interest and passion lies in Chinese, they are not having any of that.

They have said that if I were to choose to pursue Chinese, they will not be supporting my tertiary education.

What am I to do? Can I just put myself up for adoption?

Alternatively, I have been looking at need-based financial aid for internationals. Could this work?

In order to qualify for need-based aid, you would probably need your parents’ financial information. Since you are a veteran of your country’s military service, you might be considered independent (a US citizen who has veteran status would be), but this is something that you need to check with the individual college/university.
