"AT&T announced that the new entity would be the biggest in the US with 130 million subscribers.

The national mobile carrier choices for US consumers will decrease by one if the purchase of Deutsche Telecom AG’s U.S. T-Mobile unit by AT&T (T) passes regulatory hurdles. The $39 billion deal, announced ahead of a major wireless conference in Orlando tomorrow, would create the nation’s largest wireless carrier and drop the big US mobile carriers to just three."

I wonder what they will do to all the plans that the t-mobile subscribers have. They are usually much cheaper then at&t plans are. That being said, I have been with both companies in the past and had unpleasant coverage issues with both of them so I’ll be sticking with Verizon.

I have T-Mobile, wish we could get Verizon, and not looking forward to AT &T. We have had T-Mobile for 5-6 years and overall, have been very pleased with their customer service.

ATT, at least in my neck of the woods, has made huge improvements in their customer service, and I was very pleased with their reps at the local store. T Mobile, which I had for almost ten years prior to getting my ATT iPhone, went downhill. Can’t say anything about Verizon other than CR is not recommending their iPhone over the ATT’s iPhone. Fewer carriers = fewer choices for consumers…

We ditched AT&T over a year ago because of poor coverage and unresolved customer service issues. We’ve been with Tmobile and have had no complaints and their pricing was much lower.

I hope they honor the contracts that are in place.

Yes, I also hope they will honor the contracts, including the month-to-month pay as you go plans with Tmobile. They are great for casual callers and have been a bargain for our non-profit.
