<p>Welcome to “At the Other End”. I’m your host, Logisticslord. This is the only talkshow where you can say what you want and not be persecuted. Each and every day I will introduce a new topic to put “At the other end” of the stick. Everyone here will say what they really feel about the topic, although we prefer this to be more of a “roast”. All participants must be ready to field questions from me.</p>

<p>Today’s topic is one of media frenzy. I will avoid Don Imus for today and we will move to the dropped charges against the Duke lacrosse boys. Please share your feelings about Mr. Mike Nifong, the rogue District Attorney.</p>

<p>Nifong is a prick. Way to go after a few boys who made some bad decisions without evidence. He ruined their lives. Imagine what happens to people who can’t afford good lawyers. I also have to say that Duke dropped the ball on this too. Before the boys were convicted, they were condemned by the university. If I’m paying 50k a year, I want my school to have my back when I’m innocent.</p>

<p>Very good points Venkat. Now, what do we think about the accuser? Should she be prosecuted? Would prosecuting her perhaps make some victims hesitant to coming forward?</p>

<p>Don’t prosecute her because victims of rape need to feel that they can come forward and know that they will be protected by the law. However, we need to prevent women from lying claiming that they were raped when they weren’t because it can ruin a young man’s life. Rape is a difficult issue to address because it’s so controversial. I would hate for a rape victim to be afraid to report her crime, but as a young man, I feel for the Duke laxers and wouldn’t want the same thing to happen to me.</p>

<p>Let’s move on to a new topic. Let’s discuss an older case. I’m sure you’ve heard about the Cynthia Somers murder trial where she was convicted for poisoning her husband. If not, check it out on courttv.com Do you think the jury got it right? Shoudl her appeal be in the process? You tell me!</p>
