I’m just wondering how other people are compared to myself. I didn’t know what I wanted to major in for sure until about 4 months ago. Because of my last minute change, I have added almost another year of school before I graduate.
(I changed what I wanted to major in 3 times)

I really don’t think adding another year is such a bad thing. What would be bad would be to continue on with the course of study that you didn’t want to do any more. I changed my mind a few times as well and took a lot more classes than i needed to.

It really helps to have a passion about something. If you do, then you are more likely going to know what direction to go in. For myself, in the beginning, i just took classes that i was interested in. I never even thought about getting a degree. I know that must sound crazy, but i was only interested in one subject.

A few years, yes years, later i decided that i should get a degree and started taking the basic required courses. Along the way i changed my major twice but then ended up back where i started, in the same course of study.

All those extra classes that you have taken and will take are just more education. If you think of the extras as adding to your being a more well rounded individual then it doesn’t seem so bad.

I’m a Junior, but I decided my major in 2008.
Honestly I’d known what my major would be since… 2005.

I had no idea what to do when I first entered college. Withdrew, took time off, re-enrolled in 2010. I think by the end of the first semester I knew I wanted to do business, and by the end of the second semester I knew I wanted to major in MIS. Last semester I decided to tack on supply chain management as well.

I knew from the beginning that i wanted to major in History- but I wanted to double major in psychology, and make a career out of that instead. I took an intro to psychology class and realized I hated it- hated everything about the subject and eventually ended up dropping it.

I finally locked down my major about a year ago but I was already taking related courses so I am not behind at all. However, career-wise, I am still all kinds of confused.
