Athena

Do MIT students usually use their own laptops/PCs with windows etc. or do most of them stick with using Athena?

I think most have their own laptops with Linux, Windows, or OS X, and use Athena stations whenever. If they want to use Athena, they can just SSH in.

i hate MIT Athena…i hate Linux…QED

that’s not a proof ;)

Most people have a computer in their room and use Athena when they are on campus.

can visitors use Athena to access the internet, or is it restricted to students?

restricted to students-you have to have a username and password to sign in
