Athletes at Lafayette

Please help us understand the college environment if you are actually an athlete at Lafayette. How is the social world different for an athlete vs. non-athlete? Are all the athletes from a team housed together or just dispersed generally? What are the benefits, if any, of being an athlete at Lafayette? How can we find out how many scholarships are offered to each team? Thanks for the insight.

Hi 15NJTF,

I am Taylor Brown, the Social Media Coordinator of the Lafayette College Ambassador Program (LCAP). I would love to answer your question, but since I am not an athlete myself, it is probably best that I find an athlete who can help you. I will find out from a friend and will relay his/her answer to you (shouldn’t take more than a couple of days). Until then, please let me know if you have any other questions!

Parent of athlete here. I would imagine that rooming depends on the team. A Freshman may start out rooming with another (sport) varsity athlete. They make their own choices for subsequent years. Many choose teammates for roommates. This page lists the sports for which scholarships are offered.

My son is interested in track at Lafayette. Is there a certain dorm that all the athletes share?

My D is a student at Lafayette. I don’t believe there is a dedicated athletic dorm on campus. In fact one of her friends (a non varsity athlete) roomed with a varsity track runner last year.
