Looking to see how many MIT athletic recruits for the class of 2028 and the results to see what the acceptance rate is. We hear everything from athletic recruits get no bump to 30-40 percent acceptance rate.

Have your student reach out to the coach, hopefully they can get some info from admissions as they look forward to RD. Is your kid going to try to catch on recruiting wise elsewhere now?
Can I ask what you learnt about athletic recruitment at Stanford along the way?
Unfortunately, if you’re going to get the coach’s bump, it’s during the EA phase.
Were you told this by an MIT coach?
IME this is not true. Coaches submit to admissions a ranked list of their potential recruits after EA deferrals.
Is it possible that things changed this year? Could be, hence my question to you.
Yes on discussion with coach and very supportive but doesn’t know details of deferral outside of this happens a lot but things work out at RD but will reach out to admissions in the new year to find out details. Will wait for RD. Lucky to have other great options while waiting this out. Knew going in it’s not a guarantee but you get your hopes up even so. I hope others were able to get in (congrats!) and if not, hope them the best of luck during RD!
The recruit I know personally applied EA, and our understanding from our conversations was that support would require an EA application.

What was your recruiting timeline?
Email and phone discussions mid sophomore year and junior year with clear academic expectations. Overnight visit spring of junior year. Coach expressed interest clearly after the visit with extending an “offer” June before senior year.
