Does anyone know how to determine the type of athletic scholarship a D1 shool has?
What type? What do you mean? Are you talking about headcount sports or others?
Other than the 6 headcount sports, it is impossible to know if the team is fully funded without the coach telling you. You can often guess that the Power 5 conferences fully fund all the teams because they are offsetting the football team’s 85 scholarships, but it is no guaranty.
Ask.
Stanford is not fully funded for all sports. Probably a bit of an outlier for a P5 school. But coaches are expected to put some students on regular financial aid instead of scholarship.
Maybe if you share the sport and the conference someone might be able to shed a little light.
