ATT Wireless new unlimited mobile to ANY mobile

So I have ATT and have no problems. But I do wish they would communicate better.

I was catching up reading newspapers from earlier this week. i noticed a full page ATT ad that mentioned that if you had an unlimited text plan, either single or family, you now had UNLIMITED mobile to any mobile minutes. They already offer unlimited mobile minutes to any ATT mobile phone in the US and unlimited nights after 9pm and weekends. Now, if you pay for an unlimited text plan, you get unlimited minutes to ANY mobile phone at any time. It can be a single plan or the family text plan.

WOW this is great. My D’s were beginning to use more daytime minutes. D1 has quite of few leadership positions on campus and a campus internship. And while there is a phone in the offices where she works, she would rather use her cell. Folks can see who is calling, rather than just a generic campus number. I think it is more efficient. But we were using up our rollover minutes, and it was just a matter of time before I would have to up our family plan. But now we will not have to. The majority of calls my girls make are to other cell phones. And the boyfriend’s is not on ATT. So now all those calls are covered!!!

You have to go onto your online account and under extras, you have to check the box for unlimited texts with unlimited mobile to any mobile, and uncheck the box for unlimited texts. Same price. Not sure why they make you do this.

Just getting the word out.

Thank you for the info. Just told DH. He had a hard time believing this!

Yes, I’ve signed up for this a few months back for my family plan. With ATT’s rollover minutes, we never run out of talk time.

Thanks for the info. But it seems like with D2, she doesn’t use her phone much to actually TALK to others. Maybe that will change when she gets a boyfriend…

No bf, you say.
I didn’t know you had grls.
On the list, until taken off the list.
:)

only on ATT bc DS wanted to be on IPhone, for the apps, not for the phone or texting (he almost never texts, even with his CS[blink] Engineer[/blink] friends)

OP, thank you for the information. We have just saved $20 per month by cutting our minutes. Our kids talk only mobile to mobile. I am the one who occasionally calls an OOS landline number on my cell phone.

TWO girls, both single…

Any girls in NYC?
Longprime, you are not the only one creating a list. I am starting one too.
I see you have Tigergirl on your list, she’s too young for mine.

Thank you for the heads up!

tigergirl, is currently far fringe possible. DS is almost 26. Tigergirl needs to catchup in life experiences and then she has that Mom. DS is a left coaster.

ATT still has got to solve their drop calls, network busy, and ‘breakin-up’ problems.

“DS is a left coaster” Which left coast is he on - the East one or the West one? ;)

We are rolling in rollover minutes now. DD’s friends are all ATT customers (ATT was the only company with a tower near her college campus…), so naturally, the calls do not count against our 400 min limit. Maybe we can scale down a bit…

What great news! Do we have to sign up for this (ie opt in) or is this automatic? We have 1300min for 5 people and never, ever come close. The plan is five years old and the cost is pretty low compared to newer plans so I’ve never dropped the minutes. This would make a significant difference for the few hundred that we do use.

Now, if they would just do something about no more unlimited data!! I won’t be holding my breath!

Thanks so much. I changed over. Since many of our friends and family use Verizon most of our minutes were mobile to mobile. We will not use many of our minutes this way.

We switched from Verizon to ATT recently. We have been very pleased with ATT. Love the rollover minutes. We have very good coverage also.

Now if my H would just stop complaining about having to switch out his 4 year old phone. He can’t figure out how to use his new phone. Do you know how hard it is to find a basic phone lol!

Thank you for the info!

My D is doing a med school rotation out west and I hadn’t heard from her for a few days so I gave her a call on Saturday. She sounded winded when she answered her cell and I asked if she had run to the phone. No, she was on a hike in the Grand Canyon. She had AT&T service in the Grand Canyon yet somehow I can’t get enough bars to make a call from a cell phone in my own home. - Classic.

I bought a ATT used phone from Goodwill. $5. Its still a stupid layout. Because I bought used, I am not bound by a 2 year contract. :)

If you want a simple phone buy an AT&T Go phone for $15 from Best Buy. Don’t activate it Put your current sim card in the phone. Voila!

This is a great way to replace a lost or stolen phone when you are still under contract. Note this does not work for Verizon.
