I just watched a local (Northeast) PBS food show which featured a segment on Kleinpeter’s Dairy in southern Louisiana. Reportedly the milk products from this place are wonderful. The family operation (since 1910) say that it’s the cottonseed that they use in their cattlefeed mix. Apparently, old man Kleinpeter was the first in the industry to discover that cottonseed made the cows happy and produced great tasting milk. The interesting thing I learned is that cottonseed was considered a waste by-product of cotton processing until the mid-20th century.

So what’s the verdict from you folks who’ve had the pleasure of Kleinpeter’s Milk or Ice Cream?
