Well a lot of us will meet IRL at various colleges this fall. That’ll be pretty cool.

Yeah SBTester. But damn, I’ll be so happy to never have to wait for this crap again…I can finally fill out my housing stuff.

hahah yea… foxfirebass/SBtester/like 99% of the people that I met while dealing with this situation we totally have to stay in touch. haha

You belong at CMU. I actually laughed at that out loud.

Gaahhh I’m still upset over my BC waitlist. I wasn’t sure at all what would happen considering the strange nature of this year’s acceptances everywhere, but I didn’t want to go to Rutgers… I live too close…

I can’t remember if you said, VCollege…where are you looking for college?

And SBTester, nothing wrong with Rutgers man - though I definitely hear the distance thing. I felt that way about UIUC but with money and stuff, it’s starting to look pretty sweet.

SBTester- dude decisions are SO arbitrary. Also with the fact that no one has the money to pay for colleges, a LOT of people this year will clear on waitlists. Make sure you show BC that you are still interested- write a letter do wahtever it takes

foxfirebass- honestly, at this point, whereever i get in. Ive gotten into UMD, NYU, Mcgill, Michigan, Wash U, RPI, and BU so far. My ivys release on tuesday. how about you?

Same. I would pay virtually nothing to go there. Although being close to home wouldn’t be THAT bad. I can still get the mom to do my laundry ;)

@ VCollege1
Has NYU already release the decisions? =O…Never got mine…

…or hax0r the dorm laundry cards and do it free! j/k

SBtester: I was waitlisted at BC too. D: But I don’t think I want to stay on the waitlist…
If I don’t get into CMU, I’ll be going to NYU though.

I only applied to four schools: UIUC, CMU, Yale, and Cornell. Reasonings:

UIUC was my safety (Apparently it’s harder to get into than I thought…more than half of my graduating class gets in there).

CMU for SCS. I figure Pitt ain’t no thang because I’m used to weather, and I’m definitely more of an east coast boy than west.

Yale because I have legacy and I want to see if legacy means anything.

Cornell because it’s like the only Ivy that is known for CS.

If I go to UIUC, I don’t really have to pay for anything (YAY for grandparents…my parents didn’t put ANY money aside for me) because I’m in-state. I probably won’t get any aid at CMU, so even if I were to get in, I’d have to decide if that extra 25k+/yr would be worth it.

With 25k a year extra in my pocket, I could do so friggin much. LIKE PAY FOR GRAD SCHOOL LOLOLOL

Linnus- well some applicants get a special postcard thing for NYU inviting them to an event (to give them planning time). on the postcard it says you’re in. I got that postcard. NYU begins mailing paper decisions on April 1st- good luck!

foxfirebass- Wow. thats quite…ballsy. haha have you gottne into UIUC yet? Man, this waiting period is hard on everyone, but it must be ESPECIALLY hard on you haha. best of luck if they come out tonight man

I’ve been a little more relaxed, actually, because I got into UIUC on December 13 (my birthday), and let me tell you: the greatest birthday present a high school senior can get imo is knowing that they’re going to college SOMEWHERE.

I was blessed with an excellent state school, so I decided to take advantage.

vcollege, do you live in MD?

Haha I do! And I was wondering what county?

firefoxbass - Kind of in the same predicament as you between UIUC and CMU. I’m in-state for UIUC so it’s quite a bit cheaper but I’d like to see how high up I can get in the higher education world so I’m still waiting on CMU.

What major Limitless?

For almost any ENG major or BUS it’s EXTREMELY hard to do better than UIUC (Impossible for Civil Engineering, allegedly), especially for in-state tuition.

Computer Engineering

foxfirebass- congrats on UIUC its an awesome school. and for CS its definitely one of the top schools out that.

tsukasa- haha nope. i live in DC, but know MD pretty well. which county / high school you in ?

Haha, that’s a UIUC ENG flagship program right thurr…have you looked into it?

I’m considering switching to ECE, actually…
