Given that I am not from the South, I would appreciate hearing from those with more knowledge and experience with these two schools. I have visited and liked both. I recognize that UF is much bigger than Auburn, which does not concern me.
I am interested in studying engineering and would like to hear from others on the differences between the two schools. The good, the bad and the ugly:-)

Honestly? UF is higher ranked for engineering but I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice. Both will give you a great college experience and education. Flip a coin!
This may be a “which campus do you feel is a better fit as you walk around and talk with students?” scenario.

Thanks. I should have probably mentioned that Auburn will require loans, UF won’t.
Well, that should definitely play into your decision. Although I will say my son chose Auburn over UGA Honors College with free tuition plus a leadership scholarship he didn’t even apply for that would cover his annual meal plan. If you want to be an engineer, UF has everything to offer for no $$.
I would say your child should go where they feel most comfortable and believe they will get involved and engaged in meaningful things. the money issue has to be a major a consideration though. good luck to your son.
