I’m a junior, and I’ve been looking at monologues and I’ve had terrible luck finding monologues except for one, it’s from The Laramie Project. It’s Jedadiahs monologue, it begins “I’ve lived in Wyoming my whole life…” And ends with “the one thing my parents didn’t see me do.” Is this a good monologue to do for college auditions or should I keep looking?

I am from Ohio

Could I cut the part of the dialect, start the monologue after

If it’s a piece that does not require dialect, simply do it without. If the dialect is crucial to the language of the character, and it is not the way you normally speak then you must find another piece.
