Audition This Weekend! *ADVICE*?

Hey all,

My audition for theatre studies - acting is this weekend. I already have my monologue, and I have added in movements for this too. What I want to know is, do they want you moving around the room, or just standing there?

Also, any tips/advice on auditioning? This will be my first for a college, ever!

Do you have a drama teacher to ask? They would probably be your best source of information.

mblair91, you probably know this already, but your movements should stem from the character you're portraying in the monologue. So the answer to your question would be 'it depends' -- it depends on what the character is feeling while you are doing the monologue. However, in general, it's not good to compensate motion for feeling. Too much moving around can detract from the piece. Is there anyone you can ask? Can you run through the monologue a couple of different ways for that person and see what works best?
