Austerity Measures vs ??

So I was discussing with a friend the concert

[White House Closed for Tours, Open for Celebrity Soul Concert](http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/04/09/white-house-closed-for-tours-open-for-celebrity-concert)

for the unknown guest list…

[Another Exclusive Party at W.H.?at Taxpayer Expense | The Weekly Standard](http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/another-exclusive-party-wh-taxpayer-expense_716159.html)

My admittedly very liberal friend claims the world shouldn’t stop…
and I am asking why this kind of party is going on…

Thoughts?

Are these types of events necessary at this time in our nation’s economic crisis?

These events are meaningless…

There is tax evasion of well over 350 billion a year…

2.5 million people in the world have hidden 21 trillion dollars in bank accounts throughout the world…

The central banks are buying trillions of dollars in securities…

The budget deficit of the US peaked in 2009 and is going to be under 900 billion and will continue to decrease…

Austerity measures will keep interest rates lower for far longer than they would be otherwise.

My advice is to read the economist, go to the bloomberg website, use yahoo finance, and stop reading drek like the weekly standard if you want to know what is going on…
