Australian student seeking advice

I am just finishing up my honors year in applied mathematics (a Bachelor of Science) in Australia (USyd). My GPA is 3.65 (out of 4), and I will graduate with first class honors. I haven’t taken the general GRE yet, but expect good results. I will not be taking the subject GRE, as I simply don’t have the time to prepare for it. This may cut out a lot of US schools for me. I also have excellent referees.

I am interested in applied differential equations and applied probability theory. Rather than doing a PhD just in these areas, I have recently been considering specializing in ecological modeling (specifically in the conservation ecology area). I have been offered a PhD in this area here in Australia with $26,000 USD a year funding, and no tuition costs.

I am still looking into my international options, so given these preferences, does anyone have any suggestions for schools in the UK, US, Canada or Europe where I would have a chance of getting funding and waived tuition? Imperial College has a great quantitative ecology department, however I have heard that there aren’t many avenues for international students to get funding in the UK.

In U.S I am sure, best available course option in your case would be New York University.
You could browse their programs in the below website

[The M.S. Programs](http://math.nyu.edu/degree/ms/ms_math.html)

There are many Ivy schools which offers this course, like Brown,Stanford, Princeton,
you can give them a try in their departments ( after simply searching google),and anyone can look upto courses they offer in math dept.

I am not sure of any U.K unis, another option would be
University of California - Los Angeles

[UCLA Department of Mathematics](<a href=“Graduate Program | UCLA Department of Mathematics”>Graduate Program | UCLA Department of Mathematics)

You can contact the financial aid office of any of these universities to know whether they offer full ride scholarships, however it would be highly competitive. You could again search for the financial aid office of unis ( u wish to apply) and then can get their contact/email address from their website. They will respond you within 2 working days

Once again good luck with your search
