Has anyone been able to access WebSIS yet? I thought I had the certificates properly installed but I am still unable to load the websis page, over a variety of networks. Any help appreciated.

when you downloaded the certicates did it ask you to set a password?

Can you access other pages which require certificates?

It looks in my browser like student.mit.edu has to present its own certificate to you when you present your certificate to it. Maybe you could make sure you’re getting that certificate.

Aislynn: No, it didn’t.

Mollie, you’re right, I seem to be having larger certificate problems than I originally suspected. I remember being able to access https://web.mit.edu, but I can no longer? So I’m going to try reinstalling certificates (again), or just wait a week or so (I can try from home).

What web browser and operating system are you using? Have you tried deleting your certificates and reinstalling them? Have you installed the MIT CA?

Can you access https://web.mit.edu/consult/www/certificate/test.html?

Safari version 2.0.3, Mac OS X 10.4.6. I have tried deleting the certificates and reinstalling, and I believe I have the MIT CA.

I will try again tomorrow and report back… thank you :)

Try going through this page and make sure you have everything: http://web.mit.edu/ist/topics/certificates/guide.html

Hopefully that will help.

reinstalled the MIT CA, reinstalled the personal certificates…

Unable to access https://web.mit.edu/consult/www/certificate/test.html.

The error is “cant open the page https://web.mit.edu/consult/www/certificate/test.html. The error was: client certificate rejected (NSURLErrorDomain:-1205)”

Unsure what to do…

Has anyone else been able to successfully access WebSIS with Safari?

make sure the date on your computer is correct! (this happened to me…)

If you still can’t get certs to work, I would recomend calling the Computing Help Desk (<a href=“MIT IS&T - Redirect)%5B/url%5D”>MIT IS&T - Redirect). I don’t recognize that error, but I’m sure someone who has worked there longer than I have would. We deal with a lot of certificate issues.

in case anyone else has similar trouble, nobody at the help desk recognized it either. They recommended firefox to me instead, which works.

It worked for me on Safari, and I have an older version than you do.

yeah. The helpdesk guy said he’s heard of some trouble with 2.0.3 too… I guess it’s a broken release.
