Author speaking to himself: how to punctuate this?

I wan’t to write “Come on Yoni, you have got to leave!”
I want it to seem as if I’m saying it to myself inside my head

I don’t want to say this:
“You’ve got to leave” kept running through my mind.

I want to straight up throw in the quote and make it obvious that I’m talking to myself. How do I do this?

I guess I could settle for this:
“Come on Yoni”, I thought, “you have got to leave!”

But would this work?
‘Come on Yoni, you have got to leave’

In this last sentence, I used one quotation mark (') rather than 2 (")

Actually, I ditched the sentence. I just want to know if you use one quotation mark (’) or 2 (’’)

Unless this quotation is buried within another quote, double quotation marks are used. It will be obvious that the words within the quote are either being spoken or internally thought (depending on how you choose to set up the quote).

Hmm. thank you!
