Auto deaths jump most in 50 years

Last year was the biggest increase in 50 years, and this year us up a lot, too. Basically, they are blaming people using devices in the car, sending snapchat photos, Wayz traffic reports, and the like in the car. Add this to even hands free cell phone chatting and texting and video displays, not a surprise.

Six people died in separate car accidents this past weekend in Maine, and it’s a small state! Really sad.

(On another note, the state is averaging one death per day caused by drugs. :()

In my area, the problem is street racing. Dozens of young men (mostly) have been killed in street racing or by excessive speed. Just the other night two young men were killed, speeding, hit a light pole which cut the car in half. There is no remedy for stupidity, sad to say.

Smartphones definitely make some folks dumber.

You can’t just make this stuff up!! Thank goodness no one was injured in that case.
