Automotive journalism

My son loves cars and he loves to write. He has told me he wants to be an automotive journalist. Is there any such major or do journalism schools have these specialty majors?

Read the article about this in the latest- September '11- Car and Driver magazine for starters. Then he can do further research.

The Car Talk guys have MIT degrees:)

Not the Car and Driver guys. Interesting article (my H has the subscription and I read it). Just so happened the magazine came this week and had this article- serendipitous for OP.

I had a friend who work for R&T. He did some car testing for them. He worked that into a full-time writer gig. His background was more cars than any major which was something at Reed.

Coventry University in England has the only Masters degree in Automotive Journalism - that’s the one in the Car and Driver article. Details here: [Coventry University - Automotive Journalism MA degree](http://dld.bz/aj7Ze)

McPherson College, a small school in McPherson, KS, has a 4-year auto restoration bachelor’s degree, and they also have a Communications degree, and they allow interdisciplinary majors. I’m thinking that could be a combination?

D was offered a tennis scholarship there, but wanted to go out-of-state.

Lawrence Institute of Technology in Southfield, MI. Small engineering school with lots of connections to the auto industry.

Sorry, but you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time. Rather than posting in a very old thread, you need to start a new thread in the International forum, where someone may actually know something about European universities.

Michigan State Journalism school should be on the list.

Closing old thread.
