Available bus transport to florida colleges

Hello. Long time follower with first post. My D will be going to USF this fall. Any ideas on available bus transport from the USF campus to fort-Lauderdale or palm beach areas? If anybody has experience or knowledge in this matter please let me know. Trying to see how I can save on gas and mileage if possible.
Thank you.

I googled and found this one. There might be more. Try asking on the USF forum, too.

I just googled Tampa-Ft. Lauderdale bus and got Florida Express Bus.

Take the MegaBus.

Have your daughter ask on her class page on Facebook. Upperclassmen and locals with plenty of experience will be able to assist her with rates and experiences.

Amtrak also goes from Tampa to Ft. Lauderdale. There are frequent airline sales as well.

Public transportation here in florida is terrible. If you drive, I would strongly recommend renting a car for a few days. Car rentals here are generally very cheap. My wife just rented a car for a few days for $20/day. Most companies also will not charge a drop-off fee if you pick up in Tampa and drop off in Ft. Lauderdale.

Thank u all for answering. I looked into redcoach usa; the tampa destination is only out of miami…and miami is 45 mn from our home…then, the florida express bus only covers UF, ucf, and Tallahassee universities. Im gonna b looking into more of the suggestions…any other ideas?

Thanks again.

Megabus.

Quick search finds three buses that will get your daughter to Tampa.

Just $5.

Many USF students have used Megabus and have found the trip convenient. I believe some said the station is 15 minutes away from campus, although I’m unsure if I’m remembering the time correctly.

OP, note that the Megabus stops in Hollywood, not Ft. Lauderdale or Palm Beach. It’s closer than Miami, at least.

Hollywood…Ft. Lauderdale area…same difference. It’s like saying Brandon is part of the Tampa area.

Niquil, not if the OP lives in North Broward/South Palm Beach County. It’s about 3 times as far from Boca to Hollywood as it is from Brandon to Tampa. The distance may or may not be a factor for the OP. I just wanted to make her aware that the Megabus stops in the south end of the county. Can’t beat the price, though!

the mega bus looks good. thanks for all the help. I’m gonna check it out
