<p>My daughter has been awarded a full 4-year scholarship to study at U Chicago. If she takes up the scholarship she will have to serve a 6 year bond after graduation which we feel is too long. She hopes to major in Economics. To help us decide whether she should take up the scholarship, we would like to know what the ave starting salary of a U Chicago Econs grad is. We can then compare to the salary she would get with the company that is sponsoring her. Any information would be greatly appreciated!</p>

<p>In today’s economy if someone guaranteed me an education at a top university (close to $240k at Chicago) and a job for the next 6 years I would seriously consider it. Think also that the degree from Chicago that would be more prestigious and command top salary would be a post-graduate from Chicago-Booth not an undergraduate degree.</p>
<p>It sounds great but what if she wanted to marry and her husband’s job was not in the area of her job or if she wanted to take time off to have a baby. planning the next 10 years of her life now sounds a little risky.</p>
