<p>Median assumes there is a numerical quality to a college. Whatever definition you are using, “Cornell” is not going to be the average. There are a lot of members on this board who aren’t IVY leaguers (<em>gasp</em>).</p>

<p>Plus, the term average is definitely up for interpretation b/c people have different perspectives on a college based on personal preference, certain programs, SAT ranges, etc. so it’s really impossible to determine any college as quantitatively or qualitatively average, though us news feels they can determine that…</p>

<p>probably around the level of Fordham, Case, Penn State…good schools but not super-super competitive.</p>

<p>Maybe in the 30-60 bracket of USNWR.</p>
