Average Extracurricular Activities Needed

In short, to be on par with the average student accepted into medical school, an applicant would need what kind and how many extracurricular activities to be competitive with other medical school applicants.

Volunteering, shadowing and Med Research Lab (some people question the last). It is personal how much. People get interested and continuew out of their personal interest.

You need, as MiamiDAP said, volunteering and shadowing.

And most importantly, passion.

Average, I would say something like:

2 years of medical volunteering/shadowing
2 years of community service
1 year of research
Other things that demonstrate interest in medicine, the community, or activities that you just enjoy.
