Average financial aid package / aid: does this mean per year, or total?

<p>On collegeboard’s info page, it has some stats about the financial aid schools offer. I’m wondering if this means per year, or for the entire year?</p>

<p>So for example, does this mean that $19,235 is per year, or for the entire student’s stay? The tuition for this particular school is around 37k a year.</p>
