Anyone know the statistic?

around 3.1. My roommate is a CS major and he told me this stat. not so sure on the validity

I’ve always been told (even by CS staff) that it’s ~3.0. Sounds right to me. CS undergrad courses average between 2.7-2.9. L&S breadth requirements probably bump your GPA if you opt for easy courses, but the unit count is low…So they barely bump up your GPA.

I think the official policy is ~2.7 for lower division courses and ~3.0 for upper division courses.

^ I think that’s for EECS

Uhh, what’s the difference? L&S CS doesn’t have different CS courses.

It is for EECS but the requirements for the CS major are classes under the EECS department (like 61ABC, 170,162 etc).

EECS also includes the EE students… which have different class GPAs from the CS students…

Chairman Meow’s statistics were regarding CS courses though.
