<p>I am from VA and have had friends go and graduate. I did not even apply to UVA because of the “no one gets in” stuff. too much stress.</p>
<p>I have never heard of anyone getting in with such low scores. Guess I am out of it? And of course everyone has a different experience but JMU and VA Tech might take 1200-1250 but W & M and UVA usually require much higher than that?</p>
<p>I back up what eli said about UVA and I might add, UVA takes essays very seriously.</p>
<p>i agree but if your scores and GPA are not in a range of “better than” you don’t even stand a chance. Good friend in college admissions at another school says that high GPA is a better indicator of how a student will do than high test scores but that low test scores won’t even get you a look at.</p>
<p>these days, you seem to have to be very well-rounded. at least good if not better at everything.</p>
