Average kid with challenging classes - College chances

I am a sophomore currently and wanted to check if colleges of my top choice are likely to take me with this profile. Take Honors classes despite that I am an avg kid and it takes me additional hours of work to make the grades I have, stretch a lot more than I can.

Colleges - Berkeley, Illinois Urbana champaign, Madison, Carnegie Mellon.

GPA - 3.62 unweighted

Honors classes in Physics, Physical sci, Bio, PreCalc, English.
AP classes in US Hist, Physics, Micro econ.

Participate in extra curricular clubs but not a leadership role yet in any of them.

pls share your thoughts and suggestions.

What state do you live in, and have you taken the PSAT?

MN. I took PSAT this year, scored 1320.

Out of state applicants for flagships generally must have amazing profiles and expect no institutional financial aid. (I’m not familiar with whether Minnesota has a sharing agreement with Wisconsin or Illinois.) So even if you get your GPA up and score well on the ACT you should probably stop thinking about Cal- plus I think it is way overhyped. CM is a top private school where all applicants must submit SAT ll Math scores.

Bottom line: focus on finishing 10th grade strong, do your very best junior year and prepare for standardized tests.

Thanks. WI and MN have reciprocity. I agree about Cal, thanks for the info.
