Average MIT GPA

I was wondering what the average GPA both unweighted and weighted is for MIT.

You should probably clarify… MIT students, or accepted prospective MIT students… I think it will make a huge difference.

(or, do you mean of undergrads enrolled at the university? choices choices =p).

:)

or students who transferred there? or international students? or alumni? OR the professors who teach there when they were in college? or in high school? or grade school?

ok…i’m done.

i wanna kno the avg gpa of the high school seniors getting accepted, both uw and weighted.

no the average gpa of the undergrads at graduation is more interesting

sorry, i meant the average GPA for accepted undergrad freshman applicants

I don’t think GPA is really going to count that much because no school really grades the same way as others… but just to answer your question… 99.17 out of a scale of 100.

Yeah! How come some schools get 90/100 = A, while my school does 93/100 = A. Those 3 points would mean I would get straight A’s! That’s not fair!

from what i know, your counselor indicates that on the counselor report. “if your school uses a grading scale other than 90-100 = a”, please indicate here…"

Yeah its a 94-100 as an A here, based on other school standards I would have had straight A’s all through high school, but instead I got 3 B+s (they were all 92s and 93s)

For questions like these I’d suggestion you go to MIT (or any other schools) “common data set” … (enter “data set”) in the search engine on school’s site … this will provide info on grades, class rank, SATs, classes taken, # of applicants, etc. If you are interested in a school it’s worth the time to check the data for yourself!

bump bump bump

whats the GPA for freshman students studying in MIT?

What’s the GPA range(based on 4) for an freshman international student?

First term freshmen are on pass/no record grading - you don’t get a GPA until your second term grades are in.

ok let’s cut the now two pages of crap and answer the question if anyone knows it! If clarification is needed, I would like to know the average GPA of undergraduate students enrolled at MIT (average at graduation from MIT)

You’ll find the statistics you’re looking for here:
[Preprofessional Stats - MIT Careers Office](http://web.mit.edu/career/www/infostats/preprof.html#law). This website displays GPA and acceptance data for MIT pre-law and pre-med students; it also includes statistics relating to the starting salaries of MIT graduates in all fields.

@ham: I have heard the avg. undergrad GPA is 4.1-4.2/5.0. If you take research on grades, you can lift your average a point or two. Also, if you are good at them HASS’s can raise your average.
