what is the average SAT for enrolled freshman?

I know that the average for admitted is around 1870

but that includes people that used UCI as a safety.

I was told that a better estimate for average SAT is to look at those students with low scores that actually got in, since they have a higher chance of enrolling than somebody that got into a better school.

anyone know the enrolled average? if not for this year…a previous year?

If you have a high GPA with low SAT score that would be fine, or if you have a low GPA with high SAT scores. Or you could just hit the average and it would be fine too.

The average for UCI students that actually accepted and would attend is in the 1500s, many that applied with higher SAT scores also got into other better schools.

From personal experience, it’s probably in the 1800’s. I know a lot of chp students who had 2200+ sat scores though.

Not sure what you mean about that being a “better” average. Presumably the admission stats are provided for people who are trying to get into the school.

Safe side is above 1930’s for middle tier UC’s.

Just get the highest you can get on the SATs and you’ll go from there. GPA were looked into more than SATs and extra curriculars were also taken into account more seriously. SAT served as a back up… Higher GPA will take into your favor more because SAT is one sitting while GPA and EC’s are an accumulation of what you did for 4 years.

official stats for admitted class of fall 2011 is 3.99 avg (weighted) GPA and avg SAT of 1843. keep in mind those are averages (so some are higher and some are lower) and that doesn’t include the other parts of the app.

I had a super low SAT score 1370 but my ACT was higher 24 and my gpa was a 4.0 I got into UCLA, UCSB, UCI, and UCR. But what I think what helped me was my personal statement and my Extracurricular activities.

Last year I got in with a 4.01, also got into UCSB, UCSC as well. I had decent extracurriculars and community service, and got a 1950 on the SATs.
