School List:

1. UVA - MY FAR AND AWAY NUMBER ONE I WANT TO GO HERE SO BAD

2. Indiana

3. Purdue

4. Virginia Tech

5. William and Mary

6. JMU

7. Santa Clara

8. George Mason (Safety)

You need the base of the cake (core stuff like SAT/ACT and GPA) before the icing (EC volunteering)
thankfully your base is not that bad and as you said your EC are amaxing, use them to your advantage by showing u are really uniqyue and letting the admissions committe jknow u have more than just academics to offer to their schools.

1. UVA - match (low reach?)1

#2. Indiana match
#3. Purdue match
#4. Virginia Tech low reach
#5. William and Mary low reach
#6. JMU match
#7. Santa Clara match
#8. George Mason (Safety)

Thanks, I’m working on getting my SAT up too

Anyone else?

Awesome ECs and pretty good results as well, if you can get that SAT score up by just a bit, I would say all your schools are matches.

Please chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1530189-my-chances-getting-into-rice-university.html</a> :)

I would advise you to make your SAT and GPA a priority; your ECs are arguably enough to make up for your lower scores/academics but it can’t hurt to work on those areas.

I’d say you’re definitely in at pretty much everywhere except maybe UVA and William and Mary. Those I would consider high matches.

Anyone else?

For any schools that you are within their admission stat ballpark, you would have a great chance. You do have a few like that on the list. However, EC can be easily overlooked during the initial screening process if the GPA and scores are below their threshold.

all are matches or low reaches
the gpa and AP scores are a weak point
but your extracurriculars show dedication and leadership, so you should reasonably be able to get into any of those schools with quality essays/grade improvement next year

chance back

My only concern would be the AP scores.

Don’t worry. AP scores have minimal impact on admission, at least for the schools on your list. You only need to self report them on applications.

By the time I apply to college I will hopefully have a 3.9 cumulative
