<p>i was accepted into the engineering school at U of I and i’m in-state. i was thinking that they would offer me at least $3000 in scholarships or grants…nada. i got everything (except $1143) in loans…WHAT THE HELL? really? they think i should plan on graduating $130000 in debt??? did anyone get different offers or am i the only one with this “award” letter?</p>

<p>^ Sums it up pretty well. U of I is only going to give money to their top students, because they figure (and they’re right) that they can fill up the rest of the class with capable students without having to give them scholarship money.</p>
