hi, i got a 4-year rotc scholarship for Johns Hopkins University. I had 2000 SAT (which isnt good and below average compared to the students) 3.76 (gpa)/4.45 (weighted). i recently got rejected by this institution but i got a letter from command center in fort knox that i was being offered the 4 year national winner scholarship. should i give the battalion officer a call? i dont think this will make a difference.
Yes, contact the ROTC executive officer (not the commanding officer). The XO probably cannot get you accepted to JHU, but can give you advice on what steps you should take to switch your scholarship to a different university. I hope that you were accepted at other universities which have ROTC. Perhaps the scholarship can be switched to one of those.
FOLLOW UP… I now see that you were accepted at UMBC. Your scholarship is good there, as a crosstown affiliate, and is probably your only option at this point. Still, you could request changing it to another school.
Good Luck.
