What kind of awards am I allowed to put on the awards section?
What if I don’t really have any awards to list? What can I do about this?
What happens if you make up an award or exaggerate it?
Don’t lie. Lots of people have no awards. You can put extracurricular awards on the common app. Did you win an awrd for most GS cookie sales/BS popcorn sales? Put that there. Did your youth group give you some type of citizenship award? Put that in. But don’t make something up or puff up anything. Liars are rejected more frequently than people who don’t win awards.
Don’t lie. Don’t make anything up. If you don’t have awards just leave it blank.
It would be OK to include school honor societies here as well as awards.
