You guys should check out ucsb’s new student magazine Campus Point, its a really cool student produced magazine, and maybe learn a couple of things about sb.

what about it? plenty of reputable magazines are “skanked up”. if the content is good, then it’s a good magazine. a few pictures of women in bikinis does not detract from the quality of the magazine. realize that this magazine appeals to college students…it’s not a news magazine lol

look at some of the articles: when do i take notes?..best study spot on campus. if anything, “skanking up” the publication to get more readers will make better students

If the goal is to perpetuate the stereotype of UCSB students caring more about what goes on between their legs than between their ears, then Bravo! Mission accomplished.

I don’t know… Being both beautiful and brilliant does have a plus. So what if UCSB wants to flaunt all of the pretty people that go there? It proves that we are a superior race - both sexy and smart… xD

(That last sentence is a joke, for those who didn’t know.)

The academics speak for itself. Parties are only perpetuated from the location - the way I see it, if we’re able to maintain good grades, high scores, and a good ranking, all while having a great time where we are, we are, indeed, the slightest bit better than others. It shows that we have both a great academic life as well as a great social life - both of which is necessary to have a healthy fulfilling life (as shown by Dr. Vincent Tinto). Time management, self control, and resistance to peer pressure is important in life, and as UCSB students, those must be some of the first things we learn.

I don’t think its inappropriate in any sense. Our school is higher ranking in academics, healthy students, and all around overall happiness. Our girls are hotter than yours, our parties are bigger than yours, & our grades are still better than yours.

Now thats what I call a well rounded individual. (No pun intended)

did you even read the magazine? it’s like you saw the cover, saw there was an article on hookups, and proceeded to ignore the fact that the whole thing is very well written. you are ignorantly dismissing a publication that can be a very valuable resource for students…

I like it. It’s very well written and the overall look and graphics are great. I am in no way a part of the hook-up culture/party scene or anything like that but I still find the articles entertaining to read. Teens will always be teens :P
