I received my PSAT’s and Idk how to improve my writing and reading! I am hispanic, spanish is my first language and learned English through elementary school. I received a 44 in Writing 46 CR and 80 Math. Total is 170 and I am a sophmore when I took this test. I am afraid college will automatically reject me because of my poor CR and Writing section. While I took the Writing Section I had no idea about the grammar questions and probably knew about 10 questions. What books are recommended to help my grammar?

Colleges don’t look at sophomore psat’s don’t worry just prepare for the sat. Enhance your vocabulary, read a lot, pay attention in English, and do timed writes.

The barron’s writing workbook is great.

Well, at least you have one less subject to work on! I agree, barron’s writing workbook is good. For the essay portion, the thread “How to write a 12 essay in just 10 days” is probably the best out there. Critical reading will take a lot of practice and vocab memorization. But keep in mind, you still have plenty of time to study.

Colleges don’t see PSATs period. Even if you took them junior year. The only way you can somehow communicate to colleges your PSAT score is if you qualified for the Merit Scholarship. (And you deliberately mentioned it in your app)
