B.A. vs B.S. in math

I plan on doing pre-med, but i also love math and would like something that both relates to medicine and can be a fall back on if i eventually dont wanna go to med school. With this in mind, would a B.A. in math or a B.S. in math seem more appropriate. I honestly have no desire to teach math, but i enjoy solving complicated problems, looking at them more like puzzles. I was looking at careers in mathematics, and although unlikely, a dream fall back would be NSA. With that in mind, but more importantly my goal of going to med school since at this moment i really want to become a doctor, what seems like a better course for me to take?

(on a side note, once a doctor i want to focus on patients with special needs (mds and pds) so id probably be a general internist with a small focus in pediatrics as well)

There’s not much of a difference between the two (same required courses, in the end you get a degree in math). The BA usually leaves more room for electives. That’s about it (some people claim employers see a difference, I don’t think it matters all that much).
