B and two W's freshman year

Is this bad? My dream schools are in the UC system, which dosen’t calculate GPA freshman year, but still scared. I have a B in Algebra 2 and W’s in Spanish and Biology. As for the W’s, it was because the teachers of the course, who were part of the same family, kept sending my parents threatening and racist messages due to them finding out where my parents come from during the back to school orientation, and reporting it to administration did nothing, which is why I withdrew. I plan on taking Spanish 2 and Biology at my local community college just to prove myself.

Likely won’t matter as long as your other grades are strong.

You will need to make them up, as you plan to do. Keep in mind if you take them in the summer following 9th grade or anytime thereafter, the grades will be part of your UC GPA calculation.

You should file a formal complaint with the district which will trigger a mandatory investigation (assuming you are in California).

Yep, will do. It will be made up after 9th grade but I have gone to this community college a lot, and it is run a lot better than my high school so I trust it.

I tried, but the district just said to handle it with the school and the school said to handle it with the teacher, and no matter how much times I went back and forth nothing worked. Should I just put this in additional information? Or will I not have to considering I made it up at CC. I do plan on applying to other colleges too that look at freshman year.

OP- this sounds horrible.

I don’t know who you spoke to at the district, but the person to reach out to is the Superintendent of Schools. If you don’t know that person’s name and email address, it will be on the district website.

Good luck to you.
