I am most likely going to get a B in my AP chem class. I am a junior. I have never gotten a B and have a 4.71 cumulative gpa. Will this ruin my chances of getting into Ivy/Stanford schools.
Any advice on how to get in to Ivy leagues or stanford?
thanks!!!
GPA is just one among many facets of your application. For Ivies and Stanford, you’ll need extraordinary credentials or hooks, such as recruited athlete, in addition to GPA. They turn down over 85% of valedictorians on average, so even top GPA alone is not enough. I don’t think one B in an AP class will the reason for not gaining admission to those schools. I think you should think about the gamut of credentials in total. Read the many other posts on advice on getting in to those schools. In general, they are high reach for just about everyone.
