B in honors algebra 2 w trig

This year I am a sophmore and I have all A’s in my classes except my math class (h alg 2 w trig). I want to major in computer science at a UC college. Will this grade affect my chances dramatically?

Freshman year-
Apple app design(over summer) - A+ Both semesters
Biology- A both semesters
Pe 9- A+ both semesters
AP computer science principles- A+ both semesters and 5/5 on ap final exam
English 9- A- both semesters
Spanish 2- A both semesters
Algebra 1 C/D (algebra 1 but slow 2 year version) - A+ both semesters

Sophomore-
Geometry(over summer) - A+ both semesters
What my grades will most likely be by end of this semester-
AP computer science a- A+
Yoga- A+
H algebra 2 w trig- B
H chemistry- A
Modern world history- A-
English 10- A
Spanish 3- A

Planned classes for junior year-
US History (over summer)
AP chemistry
H pre calculus
English 11
Human centered design
Spanish 4
AP phycogy
Intro to engineering

Planned senior classes-
Health(required at my school) and physics( over summer)
Aerospace engineering

AP calculus (most likely BC)

Cyber security

Probably not.

However, calculus will depend a lot on algebra 2 and trig, and a lot of STEM courses including CS courses will depend a lot on algebra and on calculus. Thus algebra / trig / calculus is an area where it is worth a bit of extra effort to try to get a solid grasp of the concepts. I would avoid skipping over any additional math classes.

That’s amazing that you have figured out your entire high school schedule. I agree with DadTwoGirls–master math, not for the grade, but to help you in everything else. Oh–The GPA for UC admission is calculated on the A-G classes taken in sophomore and junior year. PE and yoga don’t count.
