I know this sounds wierd but my high school grants Bachelor of Arts degrees and any other granted degrees by the University of Pennsylvania. By earning this will it help my chances for college better.

Presumably, your mother went to college correct? If either of your parents went to college and obtained a degree, then you are not first gen.
