It was a perfectly believable story, and for a few days, it looked almost certain that one of the biggest unsolved crime mysteries of the 20th centuries had been solved:

[Local News | D.B. Cooper suspect was surveyor; brother worked for Boeing | Seattle Times Newspaper](http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2015822160_cooper05m.html)

And then a few people in lab coats just had to spoil the story!

[FBI: DNA test did not match D.B. Cooper suspect - Yahoo! News](http://news.yahoo.com/fbi-dna-test-did-not-match-d-b-231612320.html)

Oh, well. Maybe it was him, maybe it was someone else. Let’s just hope that a more reliable DNA source will be found.

Will we ever know what happened to the man who called himself D.B. Cooper?
